Dougie is an accredited Remedial Massage therapist who enjoys working with people, helping them recover from musculoskeletal injuries, aches, tightnesses or discomfort originating from both sporting and occupational causes.
Previously, Dougie has worked briefly with athletes at the Australian Institute of Sport after being awarded a scholarship through the Australian Association of Massage Therapists. He currently is a Sports Trainer for The Melbourne Ice Hockey Team and prior to that was Head Trainer for the VWFL (St Kilda Sharks).
Dougie’s approach is to identify and address the cause, not just treat the symptoms. Deep tissue, trigger point therapy, cupping and myofascial release (MFR) are just some of the techniques he uses. He also enjoys conducting research, continuing to develop and work towards being an exemplary therapist for his clients with the intent to inspire healthier lifestyles.
