Early bed

According to Good Health magazine, (May 2016), by listening to your biological clock and going to an early bed time when you feel sleepy, your body is better able to regulate your blood sugar and this may help reduce your risk of diabetes. When you resist sleep your body has to release more insulin than usual to stabilize your blood sugar levels, which can lead to the development of insulin resistance, a precursor to diabetes.

Equally considering reducing your caffeine intake in the afternoons particularly, and avoiding sugars (e.g. Few glasses of wine once home) can assist your body’s ability to naturally transition into sleep readiness. Try avoiding these things and you will notice that the time you feel ready to sleep is a lot earlier than the time when you have propped yourself up with caffeine and sugars…

More importantly these changes will help you wake the next day feeling more refreshed and energised.
